Here is the complete text with above entry:
*** Setup Olympus Digital Camera model C3020 Zoom to work under SuSe Linux V7.1
*** 1 - In /etc/rc.config set START_USB="yes"
*** 2 - Add to /etc/usbmgr/usbmgr.conf ..........
--- ## CAMERA section
--- # C3100Z/C3020Z [Olympus]
--- VENDOR 0x7B4 PRODUCT 0x105 module scsi_mod , sd_mod , usb-storage
*** 3 - mkdir /camera (or whatever you like)
*** 4 - Add to /etc/fstab /dev/sda1 /camera vfat ro,noauto,user 0 0 --/dev/sda1 is the device with my PC-setup
*** 5 - type /sbin/update_usbdb -f /etc/usbmgr/usbmgr.conf [ENTER]
*** 6 - type /etc/int.d/usbmgr restart [ENTER]
*** Now you can connect the camera and switch to the play (image dowlaod to PC) modus
usbmgr will start usb-storage
*** Then mount /camera and voilą, you will see your photos.
(umount /camera after you have finished downloading)
*** I think this should work for other Olympus or other Dig. Cameras using the storage modus
just fill in the right Vendor and product ID
*** SuSe7.1 uses kernel 2.4.0. Later versions as I understood, do no longer use usbmgr so you might have to edit/enter the id for the camera elsewhere. |
