CommentVery cheap combo cam/webcam. Exact model not present on Aiptek website! Contains a MARS MR97310A device and some SDRAM, plus an unmarked sensor. Completely hopeless for Linux support :-(

2005-09-13 00:56:49 Supported as a still camera in libgphoto2 for a _long_ _time_ now. I just added support for the optional compressed-mode photo setting, today, to the libgphoto2 CVS tree. So if you insist on taking compressed photos then it will actually give you half decent photos, some of the time. Will someone please remove this big red X for this device??? It works, doggone it, and has worked now for over 12 months in uncompressed stillcam mode.

2004-04-15 17:10:00 I put up a new project in sourceforge in location http mr97310 sourceforge net You might be interested in writing there also. And sourceforge has great tools, like CVS.

2004-04-15 05:18:28 Working on stillcam support right now; expect to add this to libgphoto2/camlibs quite soon. I can get (the uncompressed) photos out, no problem. Am trying to polish up my code a bit before committing it. Anyone wants to work on the still-unresolved mysteries, such as the the 3X proprietary compression, or is willing to subject my driver to destructive testing, please let me know. You will need a source tree from CVS or from a recent release of libgphoto, please, to participate.

2004-03-22 19:52:14 Why hopeless? Is it some technical issue? I have a webcam based on the same chipset and would like to make an attempt at developing a Linux driver.
