2001-06-22 18:04:01 Here is a site that you will find very useful: http://phobos.illtel.denver.co.us/~abelits/metricom/ I was able to get my modem up and running with help from this site.

2001-06-16 06:06:30 This is in response to Davids issue: I had the same problems, but in toying around with the send/expect script, I set it to send send and I was immediately able to connect. Don't know why the expect portion was hosing things up, especially since my wireless ISP ( wwc.com ) had the expect parameters listed on the web site as a required portion of the config. Hope that helps you! Keith

2001-04-09 22:17:11 I upgraded to the 2.2.16-22 kernel to 2.4.3 under Red Hat 7.0 and all usb works now. I can see the modem and talk to it (Ricochet GS) I can not get my chat scripts to work. Can someone post or e-mail the 'expect / send' info to me. When I look at the /var/log/messages file, all is fine until I get tp the expect ogin: point. The modem is posting the data, it is just all garbled like the baud rate is not in sync. I have tried many different rates but no luck. Thanks....

2001-02-24 06:13:38 Works fine with 2.4.0. Getting transfer rates of 14Kbytes/sec (I'm about 0.2 miles from a poletop radio). I set my ttyACM0 speed to 230400. 460800 seemed to be dropping packets or something, maybe?

2000-11-17 11:14:33 Works well w/kernel: 2.4.0-test10 using acm and pppd 2.4.0. If using Juno, use RASspy from rasspy.gq.nu to grab user & secret values for CHAP. With debug and/or kdebug 2, you will also see server value for CHAP come from Metricom - though you could skip that w/"*".

2000-10-30 23:29:25 I've been informed that ppp-2.3.11 is required. The previous versions don't seem to work.
