CommentHas anyone got this webcam working under linux ? If yes, what driver does work with this webcam ? I'm willing to open up this webcam to find out the chipset this webcam uses. I don't know how to separate the two halves after removing the two screws that hold these two pieces together. Any ideas ?

2007-01-09 19:55:08 I couldn't get the zc030x driver compiled, probably outdated and cannot be compiled with kernel 2.6.19. I happened to successfully compile gspcav1 driver from http://mxhaard.free.fr/download.html and amazingly the driver recognized the webcam and the sensor and the webcam is working just great. That's not all, the quality of image is better than what the creative's windoz native drivers deliver !!

2007-01-09 17:58:32 I just pried my webcam open and found the chipset used in this webcam "Creative Webcam Vist Pro (Model No. VF0100)" to be -- "ZC0301 Plus" !! Sensor used in this cam is "PB0330". A bit of googling reveals that there is (used to be) a driver under development for this chipset. Here's the link: http://zc0302.sourceforge.net/zc0302.php?page=tools Another driver that might be of interesting is gspcav1 for kernels 2.6 available for download on http://mxhaard.free.fr/download.html. Note that, this driver supports ZC0301P. I haven't yet tried any of these drivers. In the next few days, I'm gonna work on trying to get these drivers work and shall revert sooner if not later !!
