I've taken my Quickcam VC USB apart, and have determined that the chip inside is an ORBIT 61509A. I've been unable as yet to find a datasheet for it - seems ORBIT was bought out a while ago, and the new parent company has one of these stupid marketing-type websites that looks good but doesn't tell you anything.
If *anybody* has access to the datasheet for this chip, and can forward it to me, I'd be more than willing to write the driver for it. |

I would like to attempt to make the VC emulate another device? Would it work? Has anyone tried it? I am guessing that it is similar to the standard logitech quickcam, but the supposed "Video Conferencing Optimizations" may make it different (hardware-wise). Anyway, if anyone has been able to make one succesfully work, let me know. In addition, if I am able to make it work, I will let you know. Since I am pretty much a newbie in terms of coding, it may be a difficult journey for me. |
